We are leveraging our legacy in lighting and electrical to expand our presence Electric Vehicle Charging Station (EVSE) in New England & New York. This is an excellent opportunity for a creative, entrepreneurial self-starter to create a strategy and execute. A leader in lighting technology and energy efficiency solutions has serviced commercial, industrial, and retail businesses, Aetna Corp is hiring a Business Development Consultant, II with a proven record of success of selling services to commercial properties, hospitalities, retailers, institutions, and distribution centers.


  • Prospect, cold-call and sell to decision makers at the C-Suite, Vice President, and Director levels in New England & New York
  • Identify new business opportunities to increase market share and revenue growth via prospecting, cold-calling, networking, personal contacts, events, channel partner referrals and/or other sources – develop and enhance relationships within targeted property management firms, hospitality and regional retail accounts
  • Conduct presentations to key decision makers
  • Manage client expectations throughout the sales cycle and closing process
  • Work with operations group to successfully turnover projects & service contracts
  • Sell services by establishing contact, developing relationships, and recommending solutions and service improvements to influencers/key decision makers
  • Meet or exceed established gross profit targets
  • Input data into our CRM on a daily or weekly basis in order to assist relationships with Aetna Corp’s marketing efforts
  • Provide feedback to marketing department to further enhance our relationships with customers & prospects
  • Maintain relationships internally turning over projects with all needed information to successfully perform the installation/project
  • Annual sales goal of approximately $1.5m at our target gross margin

Experience and Skills Required

  • At least 5+ years of sales experience in lighting or related industry such as electrical, building supply, energy, telecomm, etc.
  • This is a “hunter” role – must provide examples of your ability to generate organic revenue growth via prospecting tools and techniques
  • Well documented track record of achieving annual sales quotas in excess of $1.5M
  • Possess in-depth and current knowledge of complementary products, pricing, industry trends and products
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills and outstanding presentation skills
  • Must be able to work independently and may require regional travel throughout the northeast
  • Strong negotiation and closing skills
  • Proficient in general computer, internet and Microsoft Office usage: Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint
